The person that I choose is Coop Himmelblau and the project that I’m interested in is Musee des Confluences. It’s a building for exhibition purpose and meeting point. There are 3 levels, and it has 10 exhibition spaces, 3 for permanent exhibition and 7 for temporary. It’s located in Lyon, France; site area is 20,975 m2. The building isn’t finished yet. In 2001 the design won the 1st place in a competition, the construction then started in 2010, and it’s scheduled to be done next year.

The structure is divided into two sections, cloud and crystal.  The cloud’s structure, contrast with the name, where as a cloud it should looks flexible or smooth but instead it took a shape of space ship that is solid. The crystal, located at the end of cloud, is a steel structured space that’s covered with glass, transparent as crystal. The crystal becomes a transparent public forums forum for people.
